Waste and by-products are minimized and recycled wherever possible. For example, aluminum, our main raw material, is recycled in both coated and uncoated form. The aluminum we use contains approximately 75% recycled content.

One of the most environmentally friendly and modern coating systems currently available is used on our profiles. The powder coatings consist of heavy metal-free pigments and are solvent-free. In addition, the processes used by our suppliers are very resource-efficient, and efficient powder recovery achieves a higher degree of utilization.
Recyclingmanagement
Our internal recycling management system ensures that all materials that are no longer used are taken back from our construction sites and properly recycled. We are also increasing the repair rate instead of replacing items with new ones. Wherever possible and sensible, we try to source, produce, and assemble locally.

Our fleet of several hundred vehicles is regularly renewed and complies with the latest emissions regulations. To further reduce CO2 emissions, we use electric vehicles wherever possible and offer charging stations to visitors and employees at our headquarters.
Thanks to the decentralized locations of our customer service, we are represented regionally, thereby reducing the mileage of our operations. We avoid and reduce CO2 emissions by carefully weighing and evaluating transport routes in procurement and by coordinating transport planning for the delivery of our products.

We work with the Institute for Construction and Environment (IBU) to create environmental declarations (EPDs) for our products, based on the international standard ISO 14025. Products and systems that are ecologically optimal and manufactured and operated in an environmentally friendly manner meet the highest environmental standards throughout their entire life cycle. We achieve this by replacing old technologies and investing in new ones. We are therefore committed to providing the necessary resources, structures, and services to manufacture and operate ecologically optimal products and systems in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

By digitizing our processes and documentation, we are increasing the paperless scope of our business transactions. Through the increasing use of reusable packaging, we are reducing our consumption of packaging materials.
Solar power
Our solar panels on the roof of our headquarters supply 10% of the local electricity demand and make a valuable contribution to sustainability. Many small things, implemented by many people, also help, such as the consistent use of our Gilgen cups and bottles instead of paper cups at the coffee machines and water filling stations.
